An overview of the Housing Crisis by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). At the local, regional, and statewide level, California has a housing crisis. For a long time, the crisis has been framed as only affecting low income families, but in fact the housing crisis is affecting all segments of the population.

In response to California's Droughts, BIA Baldy View has created a "Drought Solutions and Fact Sheet" to inform the general public about the benefits of home building during the drought.

California home builders build the most energy and water efficient homes in the nation, which is a critical component to creating a long-term drought solution. Through Smart Green Building techniques, new homes use half as much water when compared to California’s older existing housing stock.

On June 19th 2015 BIA Baldy View hosted the second annual Housing Policy Conference. The event was capped off by a presentation from Real Estate Economics’ (REE), Mark Boud. The study, entitled “Housing Market Forecast and The Economic Impact of New Home Construction in San Bernardino County, California,” outlined the fiscal impact of new home development over the next two years. In the study REE concluded that San Bernardino County has a chronic under supply of new homes, which if addressed properly has the potential to add over one billion dollars of economic activity to the county in the next two years.
